A TCI Compliance Solution Case Study…
The Challenge
A large multinational in the logistics industry needed to find a way to deliver consistent quality training across its regionally dispersed operations in order to meet its legal, regulatory and organisational needs. The audience for this training was operational staff with a diverse and varied range of language and computer literacy skills.
The Strategy
NQX teamed with TCI in to develop an online program that would support their annual compliance training delivered at 25 depots across Australia.
NQX wanted to standardise and align training to a nationally accredited standard that would directly link into a National Qualification for its employees.
The eLearning Solution
NQX obtained registration as a Registered Training Organisation (NQX College) and partnered with TCI to implement a blended learning solution to ensure a set standard was reached by every NQX employee.
NQX College mapped the NQX Code of Practice against a National Qualification (Certificate III - Transport and Logistics) to ensure that it met AQTF requirements for vocational training whilst also ensuring that the learning outcomes met the business objectives of NQX.
An essential element of this process was to ensure that all underpinning knowledge delivered was directly supported and mapped to performance standards that could be effectively demonstrated and measured in the workplace.
TCI assisted NQX College to implement a hosted Learning Management System, allowing real time recording and reporting of assessments, and a suite of media rich online courses.
The Outcome
The online component of the training has delivered major efficiency savings across the business whilst also providing a new level of flexibility with which employees can access training at a time and place that suits both individual needs and that of the regional workplace environment.
This solution has also allowed employees to clearly understand their personal training and development path and improved their direct access to workplace relevant training.
A key corporate objective for NQX, that has been met, has been to ensure a new minimum training benchmark ensuring all employees are engaged to complete a Certificate III in Transport and Logistics while also supporting the transfer of skills obtained through experience. It has also given many NQX staff confidence to access and use a P.C.
The developed solution was awarded Best Blended Learning Solution 2009, at the 2009 Asia Pacific LearnX Awards.
